Summer Teen Volunteers

Learn More

We’re looking for the next generation of difference-makers to help support our patients, visitors and employees.

Norton Healthcare’s summer volunteer program welcomes high school students ages 14 and older to lend a much-appreciated helping hand. Our summer teen volunteers bring dynamic energy and compassion to the hospital care environment.

Benefits of being a summer teen volunteer:

  • Contributing to the health and happiness of others
  • Gaining experience working in a health care setting
  • Skill and character development
  • Community service hours

The 2024 program runs from June 1 to Aug. 1. Volunteers must commit to a regular weekly schedule for the duration of the eight-week program.

  • Applicants must be either high school students or at least age 14 by Friday, May 31, to qualify for the program. This includes eighth-grade graduates who will enter high school in fall 2024.
  • Volunteers accepted into the program will be required to complete a health screening, including a tuberculosis test and proof of required immunizations. Volunteers also must be current on immunizations for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR vaccine); varicella (chickenpox); and tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (Tdap booster).
  • Volunteers must complete orientation and training once assigned to a role.
