Where to Go at Each Hospital

Norton Healthcare is committed to providing the resources you need to ensure you’re as comfortable, prepared and relaxed as possible when it’s time for the birth of your child. When the big day arrives, here’s where to go, depending on where you’ve chosen to deliver.

Once in the OB Emergency Department, you will be evaluated to establish the best plan of care for you and your baby.

Norton Hospital (Downtown)

Parking

Expecting families may park in the garage at 200 E. Chestnut St., or use the free valet service on the second floor of the garage (available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m.  to 6 p.m.). There are designated spots on the third floor of the garage labeled “Parking for Women in Labor.”

Where to Go

Once you are parked, proceed to the glass door next to the third-floor elevators and press the black button for security to open the door to the Norton Hospital walkway. Alternatively, you may take the garage elevator to the second floor, enter the hospital and take the hospital elevator to the third floor.

Follow signs to the OB Emergency Department (signage will be in red). Press the button on the wall and advise the staff that you are either in labor or that your provider sent you there for testing.

Visitor Instructions

Visitors to the Norton Hospital Mother Baby Unit may park in the garage, then head to the third floor of the hospital. Look for signs that will lead you to each postpartum unit (3G, 3R, 3S). Once you arrive at the unit, press the button on the wall, state your name, and let the staff know who you are visiting.

Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital

Parking

Expecting families can park in the Norton Medical Plaza 3 – St. Matthews parking garage (entrance No. 4) at 4123 Dutchmans Lane, or in the surface parking lot next to the Plaza 3 entrance. Complimentary valet parking is available at the entrance to Plaza 3 and at the main hospital entrance (valet service available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

Where to Go

Once inside Norton Medical Plaza 3 – St. Matthews, take the gold elevators to the second floor. Proceed to the Labor and Delivery admission desk.

Visitor Instructions

Visitors to the Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital Mother Baby Unit should use the first-floor entrance at the main hospital. Once in the hospital, follow signs to Elevator B. Sign in at the security desk next to Elevator B, then proceed to the Mother Baby Unit on the third floor.

All visitors to the Mother Baby Unit are required to present photo identification.
