The Norton Sports Health Training Program is a FREE, 15-week program designed for runners and walkers of all experience levels help get prepared for the GE Appliances Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon. The program offers training tips and group runs on Wednesdays and Saturdays, cross-training opportunities, discounted training at Norton Sports Health Performance & Wellness Center, nutrition tips and more!
Robin G. Curry, M.D.; Ryan E. Modlinski, M.D.; and Jeffrey S. Stephenson, M.D.; all with Norton Sports Health, are medical co-directors for the training program and for race day.
If you experience injuries or concerns while training, you have access to preferential appointment services with our Norton Sports Health team. To take advantage of this service, call (502) 891-8326 (TEAM) and make sure to mention you are a trainee with Norton Sports Health. Our staff will work to get you an appointment with a sports health specialist as soon as possible at a location that is convenient for you.

Norton Sports Health features a team of highly trained sports medicine specialists, including orthopedic surgeons, nonsurgical orthopedic specialists, neurologists, physiatrists and a sports psychologist. These specialists work together with sports nutritionists, athletic trainers, physical therapists, nurses and other care providers to design customized programs that help athletes of all ages return to optimal performance following a sports-related injury.
