Norton Hospital is a 605-bed hospital and regional referral center for complex care, specializing in complicated cancer care, spine care and maternal care. It serves as a teaching facility for the nearby University of Louisville School of Medicine. Norton Hospital is regionally recognized as a leader in minimally invasive and cancer surgery. Piloting the way in cancer care, the hospital provides a base of operations for Norton Cancer Institute, the da Vinci robotic surgical system and the area’s first cancer resource center. Norton Hospital is certified by DNV as a Primary Stroke Center, offering comprehensive stroke intervention and treatment. The hospital also has been recognized as an Advanced Orthopedic & Spine Center of Excellence by DNV for knee and hip replacement, and shoulder and spine surgery. Norton Hospital is home to one of the largest spine centers in the nation, providing high-quality care for patients with spinal cord defects and injuries. Connected to Norton Children’s Hospital, Norton Hospital is the region’s preferred birthing facility for high-risk pregnancies.

The chapel in Norton Hospital is located on the second floor, above the cafeteria. It is open at all times.
The chapel in Norton Healthcare Pavilion is located on the first floor near the Preston Street entrance.
If requested, Norton Hospital Pastoral Care will notify personal pastors, priests and rabbis when a patient is admitted. To request pastoral care or for more information, call (502) 629-6150.
Norton Hospital patients who do not speak English can communicate with staff members in more 143 languages with the help of AT&T’s Language Line Services.
If you need an interpreter, tell a nurse when you are admitted and arrangements will be made for you. Equipment for the hearing impaired also is available for all telephones and televisions.
