To help women identify companies that serve their needs — and for companies to evaluate their own treatment of women in their workforce — Forbes created its annual ranking of America’s Best Employers for Women. Four criteria are evaluated in the annual survey: direct recommendations and general work topics about atmosphere and working conditions; direct recommendations on topics relevant to women, such as family support, parental leave and pay equity; indirect recommendations rating employers in their industry; and diversity among top executives and boards.
Norton Healthcare’s four adult-service hospitals in Louisville were nationally recognized with an “A” for the fall 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. These hospitals also were recognized with an “A” for seven straight grading periods from 2019-2022.
The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade twice a year to general hospitals across the country based on more than 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as systems that hospitals have in place to prevent harm. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on hospital prevention of medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
