Meet the team members who, together with Corenza Townsend, chief administrative officer, Norton West Louisville Hospital, will plan for and execute the hospital’s November 2024 opening.

A special recognition in memoriam

Before her untimely passing on Jan. 26, Annette Carlisle Spotts, DNP, MSN, R.N., had accepted the position of director, quality and clinical effectiveness, for Norton West Louisville Hospital.

Annette was serving as manager, care management and clinical effectiveness, for Norton Children’s Hospital, a position she had held since 2016, at a facility where she had worked since 1985. She also was a frequent volunteer at various Norton Healthcare and Norton Children’s internal and external events.

Meet the team members who, together with Corenza Townsend, chief administrative officer, Norton West Louisville Hospital, will plan for and execute the hospital’s November 2024 opening.

They will be responsible for hiring and training all staff, developing pre-opening plans and schedules, and serving as the administrative team for Norton Healthcare’s newest hospital at 28th Street and Broadway.

Jonathan M. Vest  has been named director, finance and operations. In this role, Jonathan will develop, implement and maintain the financial and business goals for Norton West Louisville Hospital. 

He began his career with Norton Healthcare in 2015 as a cash application analyst and has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility since. Since April 2020, Jonathan has served as surgical services business manager for Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital.

Jonathan is a baseball coach and volunteer for community organizations, including the American Cancer Society Relay For Life, The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Pine Haven Community and West River Health Campus.

Sean Nolan, BSN, S ean Nolan, BSN, R.N., CCRN, has been named director, patient care, for Norton West Louisville Hospital. In this role, Sean will be responsible for patient care services and policies. He will oversee the care team and help drive patient experience.

Sean has past experience with Norton Healthcare, having served as a staff nurse at Norton Brownsboro Hospital from 2014 to 2016.

Since 2018, Sean has been with UofL Health. He joined the organization as a staff nurse and most recently has served as nursing manager for UofL Health – Jewish Hospital. While there, he developed and implemented successful programs and process-improvement initiatives, improved patient experience from single-digit performance to the 33rd percentile in eight months, and worked to maintain core staff and develop unit leaders. 

Over the years, he has been a member of numerous hospital committees and professional organizations. Sean has additional training in learning disabilities, diversity and inclusion, and just culture principles.

Marcus A. Wright has been named manager, safety and security, for Norton West Louisville Hospital. 

Marcus has experience with ensuring the safety of residents with mental health disabilities and has trained staff on the Handle With Care Behavior Management System. In addition, he has trained clients on workplace violence prevention, situational awareness, shrink (loss of inventory) awareness and physical security. 

With his experience from past roles for several businesses in Louisville and throughout Kentucky, Marcus has a strong background in safety and security. He is experienced with establishing and building strong business relationships with clients, community partners and law enforcement, as well as developing and training staff. 

Marcus has coordinated and partnered with local events such as National Night Out and National Drug Take Back Day.

Abra Sickles,  MPH, has been named director, community partnerships, for Norton West Louisville Hospital. In this role, she will serve as the liaison between Norton West Louisville Hospital and our internal and external partners to enhance public health, resilience and social cohesion in our community. 

Abra joined Norton Healthcare in early 2019 as a practice manager for Norton Medical Group and was promoted to manager, care continuum, in December 2020. In the latter role, she specialized in developing strategic partnerships to improve quality, service and population health. Most recently, Abra served as director, physician development, for Norton Medical Group, where she led efforts to optimize provider-related ambulatory workflows and efficiency. 

Abra has past management experience in various health care sectors, including post-acute care.

Brittne Martin has been named director, patient experience, for Norton West Louisville Hospital. 

Brittne served as practice supervisor for Norton Healthcare from June 2013 to October 2020, where she emphasized customer service excellence through ongoing training of front-line team members and coached employees on ways to leave a positive impression to ensure customer loyalty. 

She joined the University of Louisville in 2020 as a practice manager. As part of this role, Brittne worked to identify population-based member barriers to care and worked with the patient experience team to identify local-level strategies to overcome barriers and close clinical gaps in care.

Larry Bond  will support the leadership team as the executive secretary at Norton West Louisville Hospital. 

Larry has worked for Norton Healthcare almost continuously since 2011, and currently serves as a scheduling coordinator. He previously served as a unit coordinator/patient care assistant in surgical services, as an emergency room technician, and as a hospitality associate. Larry worked for JenCare Senior Medical Center as a referral coordinator and team lead from 2015 to 2017.
