Norton Neuroscience Institute knows that life after a stroke can present unique challenges. This is why the Norton Neuroscience Institute Resource Center and its staff help educate patients and their families about available treatments and managing the effects of a stroke.

At Norton Neuroscience Institute Resource Center, we want to improve your access to care, provide valuable information on managing your disease and address your quality of life issues. In addition to the general resources offered to our patients, we offer specialized support for patients and their caregivers, both virtually and in person.

On-Demand Patient Education

The Norton Neuroscience Institute provides access to on demand patient education resources for all neurological conditions.

Patient Navigators

Patient navigators are nurses designated to support patients through their journey at Norton Healthcare. Patient navigators consult with you and your caregivers about medical and personal matters. Their services are free and available as often as you need them.

A patient navigator can:

  • Educate you and your family members about your diagnosis, available treatments and managing disease
  • Help you take full advantage of a multidisciplinary team of health care providers who can offer their specialized insights as part of a coordinated approach to care
  • Assist with accurate and timely communication between you, your primary caregivers and your health care providers
  • Connect you and your family members with appropriate Norton Healthcare resources in Louisville and Southern Indiana
  • Identify and address any barriers to make sure you have access to high-quality care

Stroke Prevention Education Class

Do you have high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, family history of stroke, are a stroke survivor or are a smoker? If you have any of these stroke risk factors, join us for an educational program on how to prevent stroke and get support.

At Norton Specialty Rehabilitation Center – St. Matthews, you have access to highly trained therapists and specialized services in one convenient location to help you achieve your goals to improve your gait, balance, strength, flexibility, speech, fine motor skills, swallowing, cognition, vision and more.

  • Dedicated patient navigators can help schedule follow-up appointments, coordinate prescription assistance, create customized diet plans and provide guidance on disability benefits, housing, financial and employment concerns and more.

  • Access an on-demand video library of educational content across a variety of condition-related topics is available.
